VMMS Weekly Newsletter

October 31

Good evening Viper families,

Good evening Viper families,

First quarter progress reports are now available to view on the Parent Portal website. Please note our IB grades are visible under Report Card History on Parent Portal. Progress reports will also be mailed home next week along with a progress report key document to help explain your student’s grades. Please see our IB grade webpage for a full explanation of IB grades at Vista Magnet.

Student-led conferences are coming up on November 17th and 18th for all students at Vista Magnet. This year, families have the option to select a virtual conference on Zoom, or an in-person conference on campus at VMMS. Please complete this form to select your conference format, and your Advisory teacher will invite you to a specific conference time in the near future.

Parents: We have been contacted by staff at the Civic Center to inform us about unsafe and illegal parking in the Civic Center parking lot during our dismissal time. Please respect the Civic Center patrons and staff by parking only in marked parking spots and always allowing traffic to continue to flow safely. Drivers who park unsafely or illegally may be ticketed or may be towed. Thank you for respecting our neighbors and keeping everyone safe.

Last week we had 0 individuals at our school who tested positive for COVID-19. Staff members and students who may have come into close contact with the individual(s) have already received a separate communication from school staff and San Diego County Public Health. Students who are home in quarantine or due to a COVID related situation should refer to our Student Quarantine Instructions to stay up to date with their classwork. You may also check the VUSD COVID-19 Case Dashboard at any time for information on VMMS and all VUSD schools. We encourage everyone who is eligible to get the COVID vaccination, which is now available free at the Vista Innovation Center every weekday. Click here for COVID vaccination clinic information.

Thank you and have a great evening,

Vista Magnet Middle School
