Grade 4/5 Girls to attend U of R Basketball Game Jan 23

Parents of 4th and 5th Grade Girls,

We have been invited to attend the University of Richmond Education Day Dream Big Basketball game on Thursday, January 23rd. Admission to the game is free for all students, staff, and chaperones. The game is a terrific experience for Richmond area students and will feature in-game programming about topics like bullying, healthy lifestyle and the importance of education among others. Students will need to be dropped off at school at 7:45 AM. We will depart at 8:00 AM on Thursday morning and return to school around 2:00 PM. They should bring a lunch to eat while we watch the game. If a student needs to order a bag lunch from the cafeteria, please indicate this on the permission slip. Permission slips went home with all girls today. Please complete both sides and return the slip (UofR Permission Slip.docx )on Tuesday morning. We will select chaperones Tuesday and notify the parents who have been selected. It should be a great day!

Family International Night/Share your Heritage Jan 29 6-8 (NEW DATE)

Parents- we needed to move the date for this event up one day to Wed Jan 29 because we just learned that Bailey Bridge MS is having their VIP night for grade 5 students on Thursday. This night will be a way to highlight and celebrate the different cultures of our Spring Run families. We are asking families to help by highlighting your culture that night. Families would simply set up a table to display artifacts, information, or even a delicious dish from your country. Visit this link to sign up for a space/table to share about your family's heritage Visit this link: There will be 2 food trucks on hand too for folks who would like to get dinner and eat in our cafe from Boka Tacos and Empanada Market.

Winter Volunteer Opportunities

Hello Husky Families! Happy Start to Winter Break!

Thank You to all of the volunteers who came out today to help cover classrooms so that our wonderful teachers could enjoy an extra 30 minute lunch. This could not have been possible without the help of all of you! We truly appreciate the time you’ve donated. If you’re looking for volunteer opportunities at Spring Run here is a list for the month of January.

- The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Spring Run Starting Monday January 27th – Monday February 3rd. Our school library is in need of volunteers to come help students shop for books and/or create wish lists to take home to their parents during their library resource time. Any time you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Book Fair Volunteers

- Our school library is always looking for volunteers to help shelve books and assist students with check out. Please consider donating 45 minutes of your time to our wonderful library staff. They are absolutely AMAZING!

Library Volunteers

- Lunch time at Spring Run can be wild and crazy at times. Please consider helping out in the Cafeteria. It may not seem like much, but an extra pair of hands or two can be a HUGE help.

Cafeteria Volunteers

- Last but certainly not least, the Father/Daughter Dance is just around the corner on February 7th. It’s a little early, but since the dance is the first week of February we wanted to get our request for help out early. Our PTA is in need of volunteers to help check in couples as they arrive, serve snacks/drinks, and clean up at the end of the night. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Father/Daughter Dance Volunteers

Important Reminder: Chesterfield County Public Schools requires all school volunteers to complete the volunteer application / background check. If you have not completed this application please do so via the link below.
