The Pizitz Post
for Students, Parents & Families - January 24, 2022
Character Assembly
In the coming weeks, we will be taking a look at each of our core values, and recognizing all the ways we see students and staff displaying these attributes in and around our school.
I will tell you, during this heightened season of COVID-related absences, it has been a great blessing to see how teachers and students are caring for one another to ensure we all have a wonderful learning experience together. I am impressed with the determination of our teachers to plan engaging lessons (even when they are at home) and the students continued efforts to be responsible for their work when they are away from school. Being part of the Pizitz Family is a gift!

Course Selection & Planning
- 8th grade parents: You should have received an email outlining 8th grade plans THIS week. Please make plans to attend the curriculum fair for upcoming 9th graders at the Freshman Campus on February 1 at 5:30. If you did not receive the email specific to 8th grade, please contact the school so we can get the information to you.
- 6th & 7th grade parents: Course selection information will go home in early February, followed by meetings with students during their 4th period classes, and a virtual Q&A sessions for parents.
- 5th grade parents: If you have a child in 5th grade attending one of our elementary schools, we will have multiple opportunities to answer student and parent questions as well. We are planning a counselor and admin visit to elementary schools soon. More information coming to you soon.
Cheering on the Pirates!
Our wrestling team finishes up their regular season this week with the Future Rebel Classic at VHHS on Wednesday. They will participate in the Metro Tournament this weekend.
Our math and robotics teams have competitions this coming weekend as well.
Let's go, Pirates! We love to see your teamwork in action!
SGA Fundraiser
One of the ways we will be raising money for this worthy cause is through selling t-shirts. There are two styles (which you can see by visiting the link here) and the shirts will be sold for $20 each. Sizes for these shirts will be ADULT SIZES. Orders will be taken February 1 through February 15. The order form can be found on the Pizitz SGA website here. Payment, via CASH or CHECK (made out to PIZITZ with a phone number), must be made by the end of the day February 16, or your order will not be filled.
If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Button Smith (smithel@vestavia.k12.al.us). Thank you in advance for your support!
Join us for the Rebel Run!
Pizitz students and families who register will have their T shirts delivered to them on the Pizitz campus when they come arrive prior to the run date. Go Rebels! Go RISE!
