International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme: Real World Career Experience for our Future Professionals
International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme senior Asah Jenkins serves the state-wide HOSA organization as State Reporter. She recently attended the National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C., and she wrote about her experience:
I am one of the five state-wide representatives to the SC HOSA organization, a student-led organization of Future Health Professionals. These are photos from my trip to the Washington Leadership Academy Conference, where HOSA state representatives go to not only train their leadership and expand their mindset but also to plan following events or opportunities for the members in their home states. We talked with healthcare professionals about our state and issues, as well as what we can do to make a change. For example, we spoke with a strengths coach. We also met with a patient and representative from Be The Match organ donation. We learned advocacy and had a Covid discussion with a Director of Government Affairs and other high-level government officials. I am grateful for this wonderful opportunity.
