Why, When, and How?
Why?
Hand-washing is an important thing to do because it kills germs, gets rid of any dirt on your hands, and helps you avoid being sick.
When?
You should wash your hands when:
- using the restroom
- before eating or cooking
- after sneezing or blowing your nose
- after coughing
- you touch someone who is sick
- after being outside
- touching animals
- handling garbage
- treating wounds
How?
Step 1
Rinse hands with warm water
Step 2
Apply soap and scrub your hands
Step 3
Rinse soap off and dry hands
