Importance and Impact
___________________________________________________
Importance
The cultural significance to the bison was that they were free, and the native americans used that to symbolize their nomadic lifestyle. The Native americans followed the bison, where they went the Native americans went, they used every part of the bison for various things, such as arrow parts, bow parts, clothes, tool parts, etc.
Impact
We drove the bison to endangerment, and since the native americans depended on the bison, to make what they needed to survive, the Native Americans were wiped out with them. We drove the bison to endangerment and then passed laws to protect them. Recently we have been trying to bring them back by making private herds, and making laws against killing them.
