Genotype

the genetic makeup of an organism or group of organisms with reference to a single trait, set of traits, or an entire complex of traits.the sum total of genes transmitted from parent to offspring.

Phenotype

A phenotype results from the expression of an organism's genes as well as the influence of environmental factors and the interactions between the two. When two or more clearly different phenotypes exist in the same population of a species, the species are called polymorph.

Homozygous

It is having identical pairs of genes for any given pair of hereditary characteristics.

It is having non identical pairs of gene for any pair of hereditary characteristics.

Dominant and Recessive

The terms dominant and recessive describe the inheritance patterns of certain traits. That is, they describe how likely it is for a certain phenotype to pass from parent offspring.

Between a dominant and a recessive traits, the dominant always takes over.
