STUDENT DEVICE PICK UP
Please note, the Communications Department will be sending end of year device pick up information to parents by Tuesday of next week (4/30). Technology Services will provide a class roster/checklist, ziplock bags, boxes, and instructions (Google doc attached). Please check off receipt of your students’ devices, cords and bricks on the checklist. Finally, please utilize the following schedule to ensure we are ready to collect during the last few days of school.
- May 3rd - PK - 2nd grade students begin leaving devices at school. During this time, please check off receipt of device, cord and brick for each student. You can continue to use devices in the classroom.
- May 17th - 3rd - 5th grade students begin leaving devices at school. During this time, please check off receipt of device, cord and brick for each student. You can continue to use devices in the classroom.
- May 28th - Teachers affix post-it notes with student name to the devices (please wait until the last day or so, because the labels may fall off the devices with continued student use) and place your class set into the box provided along with the checklist sheet.
- Students will receive the SAME DEVICE next year.
- May 28th - Technology Specialists and/or Tech Aides will come around and collect boxes, verify process compliance and move boxes to secured location on campus.

DISCRETIONARY LEAVE-NEW POLICY
Policy Change DEC (Local) 4/15/2019
On Monday, April 15, 2019 the Midlothian ISD Board Members approved changes in policy. One issue that was approved effects Leaves and Absences.
The paragraph will now be omitted from policy:
"Discretionary use of leave shall not be allowed on the day before or the day after a scheduled comp day, the day before or day after a school holiday, days scheduled for end of semester or end of year exams, days scheduled for state mandated assessments, or professional or staff development day."
Therefore, this new policy becomes effective April 15, 2019.
From now on, you will NOT be docked based on the above days. However, leave may be denied if the campus can not function effectively.
As always, whenever anyone request time-off using discretionary leave, the Supervisor has the option of approving or denying. This must be done based on the needs of the campus, not based on the reason from an individual.
From now on, you will NOT be docked based on the above days. However, leave may be denied if the campus can not function effectively.
Please fill out the SURVEY! All Teachers and Staff!
Third-Fifth Grade Teachers -Please have your homeroom class fill out the survey.
