I graduated from the University of Dubuque with my Bachelors Degree in K-6 Elementary Ed., K-8 Reading, and K-8 Special Ed. I also ran track in college. Quickly after graduating, my husband and I moved to Columbus, Ohio where I taught in an inner-city school for three years. In addition to teaching, I was the head middle school track and field coach. I absolutely loved the students I served in that community, but my husband, Joe, and I decided it was time to move closer to family. We are both from the Davenport area and so happy to be back home! We love to go on hikes with our dog, Leo. Besides teaching of course, I enjoy reading, running, and gardening. The thing I'm most excited about in joining CDIS is being a part of a community that seeks to provide the best education for our students!
Go Hawks! :)

This is my fourth year of teaching, but my first year teaching fourth grade. I spent one year in the district teaching sixth grade and two years teaching special education. I attended the University of Northern Iowa- Go Panthers!! I grew up in Farley, Iowa with my parents and three siblings. I have an older sister, a twin brother, and a little brother. I LOVE to read- all books. Children's books, young adult chapter books, educational books, and everything in between. Recommendations are always welcome! I also love to run every single day. The thing I'm most excited about in joining CDIS is to be back with my colleagues who I have worked with my first year teaching sixth grade here and they turned into life long friends......and being neighbors with Mr. Heathman at home and at school.

PTO
The Central DeWitt PTO would like to welcome all new and returning students and families back to school! The PTO’s goal is to foster a nurturing and caring environment that strives for continued parent involvement in helping build a better educational environment for our children. There are endless possibilities in ways you can help. Whatever your own level of flexibility, Central DeWitt PTO always appreciates their parent volunteers, as does our teachers and staff. Whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours, your ideas, your time, and your talents are truly needed. Please come along and join us - this is your PTO and as a member you can help us achieve these goals. We need your ideas and your energy. Stop by our table at Unpack Your Backpack night and get a treat. Our first meeting is September 4th, in the CDIS Media Center.
