Positivity Project

Under the guiding principles of our districtwide initiative, the Positivity Project, the #PositivityinAction mindset is our top priority. These past two weeks we focused on the character strengths of LOVE and HUMILITY.

People with the character strength of love value close relationships with others and being close to people.

We were thrilled to share our Certificates of Shorian Love for the 2020-2021 school year, presented by our Shorian Nation, on our Facebook account. Winners were chosen from the results of a Community Favorites Survey, shared in November. In addition to the certificate, winners also received a flower, LS window decal, and hand written card from a student.

Please recognize that your Shorian love for our local businesses means so much to them; When you can, pay it forward with a visit, compliment, or donation.

People with the character strength of humility do not seek the spotlight. They let their actions speak for themselves.

Excellence in teaching deserves to be recognized. Lake Shore Public Schools proudly announces the following 2021 Teachers of the Year:

Masonic Heights Elementary's Noelle Freszar

Rodgers Elementary's Deb Wilson

Violet Elementary's Ann Lynch

Kennedy Middle School's Jessica Turner

Lake Shore High School's Jackie Phillips

These educators are recognized for their excellence in content knowledge, classroom management, and passion. They inspire our students by awakening belief in self, manifesting talents, and being the light. They are truly humble people.

Thank you to all 200 educators at Lake Shore Public Schools for being superhuman. You influence our youth in the most powerful way and we want to share how much we love all of our teachers!

2021 is throwing a lot of challenges our way. Tapping into our positive relationships and our character strengths, by demonstrating #PositivityInAction, will be critical in helping us be resilient and successful in the face of these tough times.

Looking forward, our upcoming character strengths are CHEERING OTHERS' SUCCESSES (2/21-2/27) and ENTHUSIAM (2/28-3/6).

Academic Excellence

Congratulations to the 123 students who qualified for the Principal’s List (All As) and the additional 124 students who qualified for the Honor Roll (3.5 GPA or higher) for the first semester. That’s 23.8% of our student body earning academic honors for last semester! These students should be incredibly proud of themselves for overcoming some very serious challenges to our educational routine. Way to go, Shorians!

We look forward to celebrating even more academic success at the end of the school year!
