I am pleased to announce that Michelle Purdy will be working in our school business office. She has taken on this position effective October 1. She is replacing Laura Lockert. We welcome Michelle to this role, and are thankful for her becoming part of our office staff!
As partners in your child's education, I would like to remind you of the upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences scheduled for Wednesday, October 18, from 2:00 – 5:30 p.m. and Thursday, October 19, from 2:00 - 6:30 p.m. These conferences are an opportunity for you to engage with your child's learning journey and foster a collaborative relationship with their teacher(s).
This year we will continue the tradition of student-led conferences. This approach empowers your child to take an active role in their educational experience. They will showcase their achievements, discuss their goals, and share insights into their learning process. Parent-teacher conferences provide a personalized setting for discussing your child's progress. These meetings offer an opportunity to gain valuable insights into their academic, social, and emotional development. Our teachers are here to work collaboratively with you to ensure your child's success.
If you haven't already signed up for conferences, there's still time to sign up. We've made it convenient by sending personalized sign-up links to all parents via email. Simply click on the link provided to choose a time that fits your schedule. In the event you didn't receive an email with the sign-up information, please reach out to the school office. We're here to assist you and ensure that every parent has the opportunity to schedule times for conferences. Your active participation in these conferences demonstrates your commitment to your child's education and reinforces the importance of a united effort in nurturing their development. We look forward to seeing you on October 18 and 19.
Just a reminder, Preschool-Gr. 8 students will not have school on Friday, Oct. 20. Daycare and Circle of Care are closed that day as well.
CPTO Meeting Tonight
Our CPTO meeting will be held tonight, Thursday October 12th, at 6:30 p.m. in the CCC. All parents of preschool through grade 8 parents are welcome to attend. Meetings run about 30 minutes long with a social following at Brass Tap from 7-8 p.m. If you are running late, you're more than welcome to just come to the social. Out of uniform passes are available for all students who have an adult come to the meeting!
Just a reminder that Transportation Reimbursement Forms for the first semester are due in November. If you provide your own student transportation to and from St. Patrick School, and you live more than 2 miles away, you may qualify for state reimbursement.
Below are links to forms for those who live in the Cedar Falls School and surrounding districts, and for those who live in the Waterloo School District. If you think you may qualify and you did not fill out a form at registration time in August, please fill one out and return it to the school office.
An additional form for the second semester may be turned in after January 1. Contact the school office if you have any questions.
Dear Parents and Families:
Get Ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way. Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become bolder, prouder, and stronger readers. AND… as always, every book they buy earns rewards for our school.
Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place for 30 minutes after school on Tuesday, Oct. 17, and during conferences Oct. 18-19. The fair will be located in the Margaret Pardoe Collaboration and Communication Center.
This year we are offering another form of payment, while still accepting cash or cards. Say hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy.
If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school. Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/stpatrickschool16
