Girls' Reading Club: Fallen by Lauren Kate
The book selected for the Girls' Reading Club was Fallen by Lauren Kate. Luce must spend her senior year at reform school after her boyfriend dies in a mysterious fire. She suspects that the dark shadows that have tormented her all her life had something to do with it. She is instantly attracted to two majorly gorgeous bad boys, popular Cam and Elusive Daniel.
About 70 girls were invited to participate in the book discussion. Students discussed the characters and exchanged ideas about the author’s intent. The girls also reviewed the theme and how the events in the book relate to their own lives. They gave the book favorable reviews and are anxiously looking forward to reading the sequel, Torment.
Luce was a vegetarian, so the girls enjoyed eating fruits and vegetables as they continued to discuss the book.
