BARBER BULLETIN
Week of May 13-18 Creating Joyful Leaders and Learners
An excerpt message from our superintendent, Dr. Baron Davis
Are you familiar with the conditioning of a track athlete? These athletes train their body to run through the finish line. However, oftentimes, the tendency to "pull up" is natural when these runners get close to the finish line, to relax rather than push ahead.
As teachers approach May, you are encouraged to "play to the whistle." EVERY moment for the remainder of the school year is an opportunity for learning. Please make sure you teach "bell to bell" and maximize the time you have with your students. Our game time extends from the 1st day of school to the last day of school.
Demonstrate a sense of urgency to finish the year strong. When demands become high as we approach the end of the school year, ask yourself, "How does this impact learning?" Don't be complacent. Seek to engage kids in high interest, standards-based instruction. Stay driven by your grade level standards.
Thank you for all you do to serve in this premier school district.
CONGRATS, CONTINUES!
- Loretta Sears is officially a college student! She recently enrolled with Grand Canyon University and will begin coursework towards a Bachelor's in Psychology on July 15th! She is excited and scared at the same time! She appreciates your support and encouragement!
Plan ahead - a message from our TLC!
The district is transitioning from PDExpress to Go Sign Me Up. Even though all of the course records and other course data will be transferred from one platform to the other the district still requests that all teachers print your certificates (certificates will not be transferred). You only need to collect the certificates for your active renewal period.
Here are tutorials to help you with this process:
It is important that you make this a priority. While it will be on the school's EOY checklist, Cheryl Turner encourages you to save your certificates as PDFs and upload them to Google Drive before the end of the school year.
