Welcome Back!
Inservice Week 2020!
Our Promise
Every student in Dallas School District is known by name, strength, and need, and graduates ready for career, college, and community.
The humans are coming!
I was recently looking over the teacher job description to see how far from reality we are drifting in this model of distance learning. In my head, I know all of our jobs will be different from what we have known. Far different than they were this time last year for sure. What hasn't changed is the need for us to be awesome! In that job description, it stated over and over not that you were awesome at a subject area, but that you were awesome working with kids and working with one another as a team. In short, being a good human. Indeed the humans are coming and I am grateful that you are because it is boring as heck around here!
No doubt the game has changed and so must we. I know there will be a need for mourning and we must all go through it. Planning will be different. Meetings will be different. Our celebrations will be different. Learning a new learning management program, though helpful will be different.
I count myself lucky to be excited to start this school year with you, all my family of educators! We will need to lean on each other and learn through this together. I promise it will be difficult and I promise that we will not have all the answers. I do know that if we don't come out on the other end "more better" and "more stronger" as teachers, and as a school, we have missed out on a great opportunity!
Just a reminder that both classified and certified staff start on Monday the 31st. We will host a distanced gathering to ring in the new year starting at 8:30am.
Glad you're here!
Welcome to a game of Jumanji!
We talk deeper learning experiences a lot around this joint, and I believe that we now have an opportunity to develop instruction that will have a LaCreole flavor. So this year, much like in the past I would like to utilize our Inservice Week as a focus on our building mission, and vision of creating thinkers and doers. Teaching in a Comprehensive Distance Learning model, while challenging, lends itself to opportunities to break down some of the traditional structures that have held us back from trying new things on a large scale to engage kids. We need this more than ever. Our students will be coming off of essentially a six-month break, and capturing both their hearts and minds will require more from all staff.
I look forward to this adventure with you all!
Bring a chair, the outdoors await!

Protocol For Staff Entering the Building
Please follow these safety measure when entering the building👍
- Beginning on August 31st, staff may enter through the multiple doors we typically use. At each entrance, you'll be met with hand sanitizer and a mask if you need one.
- Employees are required to have a face-covering with them at all times while at a DSD worksite and at any DSD sponsored event. Face coverings must be worn by employees working in DSD whenever 6-foot distancing cannot be reliably maintained between individuals, in corridors, restrooms, breakrooms, and common spaces as well as when entering and exiting a building. Face coverings are not required when alone at your desk or seated in a conference room that maintains social distancing.
- At this time, only employees and/or families with appointments are allowed inside the building. No children and/or visitors, please.
