The Buzz at Leeds
September 12, 2022
Message from Principal Wenz
We have been in school now for 7 days with our grades 1 through 5 students, 4 days with our kindergarten students, and 2 days with our preschool students. Our students have been learning about their new classrooms, building their communities, and sharing about themselves. As part of our safety plan, our kindergarten through grade 5 students did a super job participating in a fire drill this past Friday.
Our Library ESP, Ms. Cox, is out on leave right now as she just had surgery. She is doing well and healing. We wish her the speediest recovery.
We are very lucky that this year we will be able to have our annual open house this Wednesday, September 14th from 6:00-7:00pm for caregivers and students. Students will be able to take their caregivers to their classrooms to meet their teachers and then to see the rest of the building.
Come meet me, Ms. Wenz, the Principal at the following times and locations:
6:00-6:15 Preschool / Kindergarten playground - Preschool & Kindergarten families
6:20-6:35 Large Playground (Pavilion) - Grades 1 & 2 families
6:40-7:00 Large Playground (Pavilion) - Grades 3, 4, & 5 families
We look forward to meeting everyone on Wednesday!
With kindness,
Chris Wenz, Principal

On time for school...... How is your child getting home?
Please be sure to talk to your child about how they are going home after school each day. Will they be attending Late Bird. Please let your child's teacher and Ms. Bombard know if there are any changes with your dismissal routine.
Volunteers Needed at Leeds!
All volunteers will needs to go through Volunteer in Northampton Schools (VINS). We are asking that if you would like to volunteer, you submit your paperwork to Candy.
- Please contact Candy Tauscher.
- Phone: 413 552-9447
- Email:(vinsvolunteer@gmail.com).
- If you completed the application last year, you should be all set. Just check in with Sandy Bombard.
- You will need to complete the application form, provide a copy of your current vaccination status and complete a CORI check. Here is a link to the forms. Even if you have been a past volunteer, you cannot volunteer without Candy receiving a copy of your vaccination status. You may NOT provide it to the school, it needs to go directly to Candy. If you have not had a CORI check done before or if it is more than 3 years old, you will need to complete that paperwork. Also, she goes over protocols that must be adhered to. If you contact Candy, she will be able to assist you.
