Updates: November 9th- November 13th

Greetings Beaumont Families,

Welcome to the second quarter of comprehensive distance learning. We made it! While there have been a few bumps this school year, as we have needed to work out a few kinks, we feel so fortunate to get to work with your child(ren). As we enter the second quarter, please be sure to help your student prepare, in order to have a strong start. Please take note of the following:

Quarter 2 Explanation with Dr. V

If you want to know more take a look at this video explanation of how to navigate quarter 2 of distance learning.

Elective Wheel Google Meet Codes

Please remember to have your student check their schedules in StudentVue/ParentVue. If your child is participating in the quarter elective wheel, your child will have a different teacher, as well as a different Google Meets for the new teacher. As a reminder, teacher codes are the teacher's last name and the period in which they teach (ex.vimegnon2). There are a few teachers with unique codes, you can view them here.

Veteran's Day Special Schedule.

This coming Wednesday is a holiday observed and there is No School. Thus, we will have a special schedule this week to ensure that students are able to maximize their instructional time with teachers. Please view the special schedule, which will be in effect next week only.

ParentVue and Registration Updates

If you have not done so, please remember to log-in to ParentVue to update your re-enrollment paperwork for your student.

Conference Sign- up Updates

Conference sign-ups will be shared with families early next week. In short, we will have a document that we share with each of you. The document will include links to each teacher's Google calendar for your to access parent/teacher conference sign-ups. Again, virtual conferences occur on November 23rd and November 24th, from 8:00 AM- 8:00 PM.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Introducing Ms. Roll

Teaching has always been enjoyable for me. When I was a kid I was so excited when my school, Woodstock School, was giving away their old antique desks and I was able to get and then keep a few of them in my bedroom to playschool! Today is the real deal! I have been a special education teacher for the past 13 years. Being an advocate for and helping students who may struggle with school a little or a lot more than average gives my job as a special education teacher purpose and joy.

When I am not teaching or working on my other duties as a special education case manager, I can often be found outside in the garden or out hiking with my husband (and hopefully dog soon) on trails in the hills and at the ocean or mountains. I love hiking, kayaking, biking, and taking photos of nature.

I have a 19-year-old son at the U of O and a 17-year-old daughter, a senior at Grant. We also have a 12-year-old rescued kitty and just adopted a 2-year-old rescued dog. On an animal-related note, during the past several years I have had Pet Partner registered dog therapy teams come to my classroom from time to time with their dog to sit with my students for reading and math. Combining my love for animals with my love for teaching has been a dream come true.
