Back to School Eagle Edition
Are you ready for the first day of school?
Dear Glennwood Families,
We are so excited to welcome your children back on Tuesday, August 3rd! Our school hours are 8:20am-2:50pm. Arrival begins at 8:00am, and your child must be in the building by 8:20am.
We created an awesome PARENT CHECKLIST to help you with your back-to-school planning. Check it out! Also, please make sure to take a peek at our Glennwood website on the Back to School tab for lots of great information.
I have had several questions and concerns about lunch procedures. As a parent myself and an administrator, I can relate to your concerns. Our plan at Glennwood is to eat outside as much as possible. Please pack a towel to be used at lunch for your child to sit on outside. We have lots of shady areas on our property, and our fabulous PTA is looking into other options for us for shade.
On the occasion that we cannot eat outside, we are fortunate that our cafeteria has two separate sides. We staggered our lunch schedule so that only two classes will be eating at a time, each on a separate side. Because our school is smaller, we can socially distance quite well in the cafeteria if it is necessary to eat indoors. Students will remain masked unless actively eating, and we will shorten the lunchtime to about 15 minutes. This should be ample time for our students to be able to eat. We will make every effort to keep your children and our staff safe. Safety comes first for me.
We look forward to welcoming our students back on August 3rd! As always, please reach out with any questions you may have.
Warmest Regards,
Principal

Important Information - Parent Checklist
Please review the parent checklist below to make sure your Glennwood Eagle is ready to SOAR for the first day of school.
Meet and Greet
The Glennwood Crew welcomes you! We have also created Flipgrid videos so that you can meet everyone virtually and start to put a few faces with names.
Welcome to all new and returning students! I am so excited to meet everyone. Just a reminder to please update your student’s health information in Infinite Campus through the Annual Update. School Health reviews the information to make sure we are aware of any students with any medical conditions that need to be followed.
Please reach out to me if your child has any medical issues of which I should be aware, including food allergies, asthma, and seizures. If your child needs medication for use at school, please be sure to have your care provider fill out the medication administration form and have a care plan completed. A new care plan and medication administration form must be provided each school year. All prescription medication must be labeled with the original pharmacy label. Over-the-counter medications must be sealed with your child’s name written on it and do require a medication administration form. Please make sure that the medications provided are not expired. All forms needed can be accessed from the CSD website under Families, Forms and Handbooks and then Health Forms. Here is the link:

I look forward to getting to know the students in the next few weeks!

School Supply Orders
Greetings, Glennwood parents! As we quickly approach the start to our 2021-2022 school year, please be reminded that school supplies should be purchased through the PTA website. Due to a significant price saving, we ordered all Glennwood supplies from Office Depot. Each purchase will provide an individualized set of grade-level school supplies for your student(s). The supplies will be in the students’ classroom when they arrive on the first day of school. You also have the option to donate a kit to make sure each student has access to individual supplies.
To order, visit the PTA website and select the grade level kit you are purchasing. To purchase your supplies, visit Store – Glennwood Elementary PTA (glennwoodpta.org).
Please email the PTA with any questions: president@glennwoodpta.org
