Summer School
Holly Academy is pleased to be offering summer school again this year. We will be replicating the program we ran last year, which included one two-week session, and two three-week sessions. The summer school hours are 8:00am-12:00pm. There is no cost to our families. You can opt your Husky into any or all sessions. This program is not intended to accelerate students. The intent is to fill gaps in learning and assist students with retaining information over the summer. Please fill out the Google Form below if you are interested. The deadline for registration is Friday, April 29th. Dare to be remarkable!

Spring Testing
M-STEP began this week with 5th and 6th graders testing in ELA. Well done to the students who took their time on this lengthy test. A huge thank you to the teachers for monitoring, and to Mrs. Bunka and Mr. Mison for all of their hard work with preparations and proctoring. Next week, the rest of the grades will test in ELA, while 8th grade will test in Social Studies and Science. Again, these tests will be administered on different days to ensure students have every opportunity for success.

Upcoming Dates
May 4th: Don’t forget about our upcoming Wellness Fair. Holly Academy will be hosting Puberty Talks during this time, as well. Should you be interested in seeing the powerpoints that will be presented on this date, they will be available to view in the main office from 8am-3pm. Be sure to check out the flyers.
May 13th: This year, middle school’s Global Focus has been water scarcity. Students have been learning about the importance of access to clean water. The goal is to raise money to provide a well to a community in South Sudan. As the final fundraiser, they will be holding a Walk for Water event. During the event, students will carry gallon jugs of water around the loop on campus. This will help them experience what it is like for children to spend their days walking to and from a water source that may be miles away. Students will be asking for donations or pledges for every lap they complete. All money raised will go towards providing a well in South Sudan. Go to www.waterforsouthsudan.org for more information.
May 19th: Outdoor Classroom Day will be something exciting to look forward to as students spend their academic learning outside on this date.
Keep being great, Huskies!

Staff Appreciation
Every year the Holly Academy PTO provides special treats for the staff during this week.
Here is what you and your student can do to get involved during the week of May 2nd - 6th.
Students:
There is no gift too big or too small to honor our teachers and staff during this week. Most importantly, we ask that you remember to say a simple “THANK YOU” to them. Due to the current restrictions and parents not being allowed in the building, we have made the "Favorite Things" list digital this year. Please click the link below if you are interested in doing something extra special this year!
Holly Academy Staff - Favorite Things
• Write a “Thank You” to a teacher(s) or staff member(s).
• Bring in a special treat or gift for your teacher(s) or staff member(s).
Thank you,
Holly Academy PTO
