CKE Monday Notes
"If It's to Be, It's Up to Me!"
Welcome Back!
We hope that everyone had a GRRREAT Spring Break! It certainly was nice to get some time off. Just a few more weeks and summer will be here! Hard to believe, this year has flown! Now it is time to get our minds wrapped around our end of the year testing. Everyone has worked hard this year and I know that our Cubs are going to shine! Please remind them this week to keep a positive mindset and that we've all worked hard all year to get to this point. Now is the time to show it! Oh yeah, and are we going to let those Spring Place Tigers beat us again? Not a chance!!
Volunteer Recognition Day
Be sure and thank our volunteers this week for ALL that they do for us! This Thursday (4/20) is actually Volunteer Recognition Day. We certainly do appreciate them and their service to our school. And we want to send out a special shout out to Teresa Crook who coordinates our Additions program at Coker. THANK YOU MRS. CROOK!
Testing Training for Teachers & Paraprofessionals
Kay will meet with all certified staff in the media center at 3:10 on Tuesday (4/17) afternoon to train everyone for administering our EOG assessments in 3-6 grades. She will meet with paraprofessionals around 9:00 on Wednesday (4/18) morning in C18 on the 1st grade hall. One last thing from Kay, be expecting one or two fire drills this week!
Gutsy the Flying Fox Visits on Friday!
Our testing kick-off assembly will center around a visitor who hasn't been at our school in several years. We have invited Gutsy back and he will host our assembly on Friday (4/21) at 1:00 in the gym. Only 3rd through 6th grade will attend our testing kickoff assembly. We would love to have everyone but the acoustics and space are always an issue. We will call grade levels as we are ready for them. We are excited to see Gutsy again!
Testing Pledge Banners & Annual Inflatable Day
Later this week we will have our testing pledge banners posted in the paw hall for all students to sign. We will have one for each house and encourage students to take a minute before the end of the week and sign their banner with their classmates. Please remind them of the seriousness and that by signing it they are pledging to do their best. In addition, remind them that they will need to be present each day of testing to be able to attend our annual Inflatable Day coming up on May 18th or 19th depending on the weather.

"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time." - Thomas A. Edison
