Weather: There is very high-humidity and rainfall climate in the windward coasts and a dryer climate in the interior and along the leeward coasts.
Climate Type: Maritime tropical climate, slight seasonal temperature variation.
Physical Characteristics: There is 800 volcanic and coral islands. There are many beaches, mountains, and tropical forests.
How to fit in:
Folkways: Growing food in personal/family gardens is very common in villages. During activities men usually associate with men and women usually associate with women. When you greet a family member you kiss them on the cheek to say "hello". You are to respect your elders and parents. There are many fixed marriages throughout Fiji.
Taboos: You are not to point a finger at someone older than you and shouting and being loud in a village in not acceptable.Values: A few values include education, respect and making outsiders feel welcome.
Digging deeper into the Culture:
Subcultures include the Indian, Chinese, and European cultures. Also their Pacific neighbors' cultures; Tongan and Roturman.
Culture Landscape: There are many sports in Fiji. There is archery, tiqa, ulutoa, rugby, football, and cricket. The most common food is chili peppers.
