We will be closed for Thanksgiving Break next week, November 21 - 25. School will resume on Monday, November 28. The FMES Staff are very thankful to all our students and parents. We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy this time with your family!

In December, right before Winter Break, our awesome PTA and Room Parents host a Winter Celebration for each class. Parents are invited to join their child for the celebration. The schedule is below.

PTA Holiday Shop will be open the week after Thanksgiving Break, November 28 – December 2. Gifts are priced for a child’s budget, ranging from $0.25 to $10.00, with most priced under $5.00. There are gifts available for ALL members of your family. Click here to see the schedule for when your child’s class is shopping. Also, we are in need of some parent “elves” to help the students spend their money. The times are M-F, 8:30-12:00 and 12:30-3:00. If interested, sign up here!

Students will participate in an Elf Run during their Specials time on Friday, Dec. 16. There is no cost for the event but we will be pre-selling Elf Run t-shirts for $10. All orders MUST be placed on My Payments Plus. To see what the t-shirt looks like and to get more details about the event, CLICK HERE. The deadline for purchasing a t-shirt is Friday, Dec. 2 by 10:00 AM. We cannot accept any orders placed after this date and time. All proceeds will go to PBIS to purchase items students can buy with the Bear Bucks they earn at school for making great choices and Respecting the Mill.

FMES Student Council is leading a sock drive November 28-December 15. Please bring in socks (NEW items only please) to benefit patrons of a local charity, Village of Hope. We need socks for people of all ages! Grade-level bins will be in the front lobby. The grade level that collects the most items will win A PRIZE!

Beginning Monday, Dec. 12, Student Council will be selling candy canes. The candy canes will be $0.50 each. Sales will continue through Friday, December 16 or until we run out. We need your help! If youare willing to donate candy canes for the sale, please drop off at the front lobby desk anytime between Nov. 28 and Dec. 9. Students love all varieties of candy canes!

We hope all FMES families will join us Thursday, Dec. 1, from 6:30-8:30 pm for an evening of holiday fun! This is a family event, so students must attend with an adult. Come and join us for Polar Express story reading, cookies and milk, crafts, photo booth, and fun activities for the whole family! "Shop the Halls" is returning this year where you can do some shopping with some of our local vendors. The PTA Holiday Shop will also be open for business. Both "Shop the Halls" and the PTA Holiday Shop will have extended hours until 8:30 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite holiday pajamas!!

Tuesday, December 6, will be a digital day due to the election runoff. Students will complete assignments for the day at home using their teacher’s eCLASS page or work sent home in a packet. Your child’s teacher will provide more info as the day approaches. Buses will be delivering breakfast and lunch at bus stops.

We hope you plan to join us for the PTA Meeting and Holiday Chorus Performance on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 6:00 p.m. This event will be held in the FMES Cafeteria.

During the week of December 12, holiday accessories will be for sale before school! Come by our table to purchase a jingle bell bracelet/anklet, holiday headbands, and holiday glasses! These items will be super fun to wear all week long and also wear at our Elf Run! Items will be $1 and $3.

Monday: Holiday Best- wear your favorite holiday outfit
Tuesday: Wear a holiday hat or headband (purchase one here at school if you need to!) Wednesday: Ugly or Cute Holiday Sweater Day
Thursday: Light up your outfit with a light-up necklace or headpiece
Friday: Wear your FMES Elf Run shirt or your fave holiday shirt!
