Mrs. Robbins-Week in Review!
January 6-10
Weekly Overview
This was a short week due to not having school on Monday. The teachers had a Professional Development Day and learned about some really cool new apps! We also went over our mid-year test scores and 2nd grade had awesome scores! We are so proud of our students!
What we learned!
Math & Reading
In math, we are still practicing two-digit subtraction. This is tricky, but the students are getting the hang of it! Just keep practicing!
We started a new unit in reading called Keep Looking! We are learning about how animals use camouflage to hide. Ask your child about some of the different types of camouflage animals use.
Science and Social Studies
We learned about different holidays celebrated around the world.
Fun Stuff!
Don't forget to write down the books your child has read on their Reading Log. The goal this month is 12 books, 6 for Braum's and 6 for Pizza Hut. They can also take AR tests on the books from their reading log to get points.
Speaking of AR, ask your child about our 2nd Grade Dives Into AR! bulletin board!
Don't forget your child has a FREE TICKET to the circus. Show times are Friday. January 10 at 4:30 and 7:00.
IMPORTANT!
I will not be at school next Monday-Thursday, January 13-16. I will be out of town with my husband on a business trip. Your child will still have homework as usual, reading their story, studying spelling words, and a math sheet. If you need anything, please call the office.
