Family Update
Dublin Jerome High School

Take Responsibility, Always Growing, Better Together
Nov. 11, 2022
A message from me...
Good Afternoon!
On this Veteran's Day, I want to take a quick moment to thank my dad for his service. It is ironic that I am a high school principal day considering how much time my dad spent with his high school principal. My dad was not a big fan of school and did most anything he could to not be at school.
However, after high school he chose to enlist in the Navy and was stationed in San Diego where he and my mom lived until is was honorably discharged. While in the Navy, my dad studied boiler repair and maintenance. After working stints at Republic and LTV Steel he was employed at General Motors as a Powerhouse Repairman until his retirement.
My dad did not talk a lot about his time in the service other than that without that experience he may not have been able to take care of his family. But I know now that his willingness to serve our country is a significant commitment and life changing experience. When my dad passed away, we had the great honor of celebrating his service. I am deeply appreciative of his commitment to our family and our country. Love you pops!
I also want to take this time to honor those in our Jerome community that have served. Thank you! You are appreciated!
Better Together,
Mike
