Students: from organizing workspaces to planning lessons, our staff have been busy preparing for your arrival. Whether it’s your first year at McKay or your last year, we hope you take advantage of the opportunities we offer. You are the most important part of our work. Safety Updates

Masks:

Masks are optional. Masks will be available to you in the main office or at any entrance.


Medications:

If you have a student who needs medication during the day, please visit our main office to register their medication needs with our school's nurse

Seniors registration for the SAT at McKay is now open.

Counseling Corner (Schedule Change Alert)

Student Schedules: All Freshman will pick up their schedules in the MAIN GYM on Tuesday morning upon arrival. All other students including 9th graders will have the option to pick up their printed schedules ***if they want them*** in the commons on Wednesday morning. Students are free to use their phones to look at their schedules.


Reminder for the first week and Schedule Change Requests:


Please report to your assigned semester 1 classes on September 7th. The online schedule change system will reopen on September 6th and close on September 11th.


Please do not report to the Student Center for schedule changes unless you have the following:

  • "Needs class" placeholder

  • Duplicate class

  • Errors (example: "I already took Biology")

  • Graduation requirement missing (example: "I am missing my math class")

  • Request Aide Request- Juniors & Seniors only (form is required)

Chromebooks

  • Bring your Chromebook to school fully charged, everyday.

  • You will have a label for your charger and Chromebook with your name.

  • Please be responsible and keep track of your Chromebook.

Shout outs

Big picture
Boys soccer hosted Nelson High School on Thursday and earned their first win of the season. Our Royal Scots played with strength and precision finishing the game 6-0.

McKay Royal Scots football had their league opener on Friday night. As agreed by all, we outplayed the Lebanon Warriors, but just came up short of the win, with a final score of 39-41.

Our Lady Scots Cheerleaders made their season debut during Friday night lights. They are the largest team in Salem-Keizer and showed character by presenting a gift basket to the visiting team with applause from the visiting grandstand.
