Our newly elected student council members are running their first fundraiser on Thursday, October 17th. Please send $2 with your child on Thursday, October 17th if your student would like to participate. All children can still wear their regular school uniform for free. This opportunity is optional.

MOVIE DAY for St. George Students and Families! Sunday, October 20

All St. George students and families are invited to participate in our first Children's Movie Event on Sunday, October 20 around noon (after Children's mass)! We will have food and drinks for a small fee. Grade level representatives will have each student in their grade level vote for their movie choice. More info to come. (Please note, this event is at the same time as St. Mary's HS Open House event. Families of 7/8th graders, I strongly encourage you to go to St. Mary's instead of attending this event.)

Counseling Services coming to St. George School

The counselors are also able to provide counseling for individuals, families, or groups. Permission slips went out last week! Please check your child's backpack and return the permission slip. We need a completed permission slip for EVERY child. Parents have the option to decline or accept counseling for their child.

Fall Fest on October 31st! (12pm Dismissal)

Parents, please join us for Fall Fest at 12pm on October 31. We will have games, arts and crafts, activities, and food!

Students may change into a costume or pajamas after school (12pm). Nothing bloody or scary. No masks or toy weapons allowed. Students must wear school appropriate shoes even with their costume/pajamas. Label EVERYTHING!

Since school is officially out at noon, you are welcome to take your child at that time. The Fall Fest is optional.

School Uniform

School uniform policy is in full effect. Please be sure to send your child in a complete school uniform everyday including plain black or white shoes. ONLY the school sweatshirt can be worn to school but students need to have a red vest/sweater for mass (definitely no sweatshirts at mass). Jackets need to be free from logos.

Red vests/sweaters can be purchased from Dennis Uniform at www.dennisuniform.com.

Do you see us?

Ms. Hortencia and I have been spending a good amount of time visiting local businesses, getting the word out about our amazing little school, and putting our information out there for donations. Hopefully you will see the posters we put up at each location. We focused mostly on neighborhood businesses on El Dorado, Charter Way, and a few downtown.

We also visited each of the churches on the South/East side: St. Gertrudes, St. Edwards, St. Linus, and St. Mary's. How blessed we are to serve such wonderful communities.

Art Classes for St. George Students at St. Mary's High School

The art teacher at St. Mary's is running an art program just for our students in grades 2-8. Please see the form in your child's backpack or pick one up from the office. The class meets once a week on Thursdays from 3:30-5pm at St. Mary's High School (Room 12 in B-hall). The cost is $50 per child for each month. Classes begin in October.

This is not a school sponsored event. Please arrange for your own transportation, supervision, and payment schedule.
