Proposed Revisions to our Elementary Report Card and Portfolio Conferences
Communication between school and home about a child’s academic progress and personal growth should occur throughout the school year. These opportunities include a report card three times a year and a spring portfolio conference. We are working to revise our current system to take effect in the 2014-2015 school year. ATTENDANCE MATTERS
The State of Pennsylvania continues to monitor student attendance closely. As a result of this governance, all absences are documented as unlawful until a note of excuse is received. Additionally, 6 days of unlawful absences now result in a truant case. Once a student is marked a truancy case, the result can be truancy court.
Parents can help protect against this occurrence by sending in all excuse notes within three days of any absence. Teachers will be sending all notes to the office the morning they are received. Thank you in advance for your help in minimizing any attendance-related challenges.
