Big picture

Wednesday, November 18

Wednesday is an asynchronous day for all students. Please ensure that your child completes all assigned learning activities in Empower.

Schedule Reminder

Students who are on campus for in-person instruction will follow our traditional 7:30 a.m. - 2:15 p.m. bell schedule.

Students who are participating in off-week remote learning or our Virtual Academy will continue to follow the 8:00 a.m. - noon compressed schedule, supported by core office hours offerings every afternoon.

In-person Learning This Week

Welcome back, Cohort A 6-8 students. All in-person Special Education Regional Programs students will be in the building this week.

Attention Cohort A - Important Reminders

Students must pass a required health screening (#6 below) each day upon their return to the building. Additionally, on their first day of in-person learning, students must provide their health screener with a signed Student Accountability and Required Health Protocols acknowledgement (#8 below). Students will not be granted access to in-person learning without this important form.

  1. Read the Return to Campus Guide to families.

  2. Use social stories for younger students or special education students to prepare for the changes in routine.

  3. Learn about expectations for face coverings. Remember, each child will be provided with up to five face coverings for free.

  4. Learn about changes to meal service. Consider taking advantage of the free breakfast and lunch service.

  5. Learn about technology changes. Students with a WCPSS device should plan to bring them to school. Those bringing a personal device will need a signed BYOD Consent Form.

  6. Learn about the required health screening. All students should have their temperature taken every day at home before coming to school.

  7. Learn about how we're keeping school buildings clean and safe.

  8. Read Student Accountability and Required Health Protocols and sign the acknowledgement page.

  9. Be familiar with what happens when there is a COVID-19 case on campus.

  10. Riding the bus? Complete the required attestation form and learn the new procedures to protect everyone’s health and safety.

If your family has decided for your child not to return to the building for in-person learning this semester, please contact Ms. Amy Tew (atew@wcpss.net) as soon as possible.

Teachers will escort students to their designated handwashing stations and then to lunch. Students will eat breakfast (optional) and lunch in the cafeteria. All cafeteria meals will be bagged. Students will be seated six feet apart at designated tables, all facing the same direction. Students will unmask upon sitting down.
