Astro October Update
Dream big. Reach for the stars. Together we achieve success!
Principal's Message
Dear Families,
A big focus for the beginning of the year is forming relationships and building community. We do this in our classrooms and across the school. We had our Day of Play on September 30th, and Laps for Ladd as school-wide community events. We have another community event coming up, our Astro Launch Night.
The Astro Launch Night will be an open-house event. It is an opportunity for you to visit your child(ren)'s classroom(s) and learn about their school day. There will be food served in the cafeteria as well. During the last part of the evening, we will be doing a school-wide activity. The activity will be the same in all of the classes. The focus of this evening is to build community and make connections with your child's class. If you have specific questions about how your child is doing, please reach out to their teacher to make an appointment. Parking is limited at Ladd Acres. If you have the ability to walk or carpool, please do so.
We now have the ability to use the Remind app and email to share information with the office about absences. Please follow these directions in the link below to get signed up to use Remind to communicate with our school office.
In partnership,
Jennifer Robbins
Career & College on November 18th
We are looking for family and/or community members to join us as we get our students excited about careers and their futures! Our Career and College Fair will be on Friday, November 18th from 8:00 am-10:30 am. We are hoping to gather a wide variety of guest speakers to share with our K-6 grade students about their careers and the pathways to get there. Please let us know if you are willing to help our students explore their vast possibilities. If you have a friend, family member, or community partner who would love to share about their career or college, please invite them to participate as well!

Health and Safety Reminder
Health and Safety Reminder
Don’t let the lingering summer sunshine fool you - cold and flu season is here! Many symptoms of colds and flu are shared with COVID, and sometimes it takes two or more home tests for COVID to register. The best course of action is to stay home if you are not feeling well and do not return until you have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the aid of medication (if applicable) and other symptoms are improving. Free COVID test kits are available from your school’s front office. Have questions? Contact our COVID Resource team at 503-844-1784.
