Catholic Schools Week
We had a very successful Catholic Schools Week (CSW). The students had several activities that they enjoyed. Photos of the events will be shared next week. Thank you to 5-1 and the faculty who participated in our first Penny Wars kickball game. Everyone had a great time! Thank you to Ms. Steptore for organizing the penny wars and kickball game. The students are already talking about saving their coins for next year! Please join us for mass tomorrow and our Mardi Gras parade next Friday.
Safe Path to Schools
Safety is always a top priority for all of our children. The Safe Path to School 2nd Annual Awareness Day is Wednesday, February 7, 2024. On that day students may wear a yellow shirt with jeans or school bottoms.
The local parishes will participate in a eucharistic procession that will begin at OLL church and process to St. Margaret Mary church. If you would like your child to walk with you and/or your family it will be an excused absence. Please see the attached flyer for details.
Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes
We have several activities planned for the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes on Thursday, February 8. We will begin with mass at 8:30. We will then walk to the new bell, which you have probably noticed on the side of school, and it will be dedicated by Fr. Chris. The bell was donated and Mr. Daniel Calamari refurbished it and a tower was built to house it. We will use the bell for students to ring on special occasions. Students will then process to the Mary statue, say a rosary and present Mary with flowers. Your child may bring in flowers that morning. The celebration will continue on the playground where students will be treated to popsicles.
Mardi Gras Parade
Our annual Mardi Gras parade will roll Friday, February 9th at 9:30 and everyone is invited! Staging will begin in the church parking lot at 9:00. Grades PK4-2 will dress according to the decade assigned to them. Teachers will provide specific information. Permission slips were sent home Wednesday with your student indicating if they would like to walk in the parade or be in the audience catching. These slips help teachers to ensure your child is in the correct location. Please have these back to the teachers by Tuesday, January 30th. If you attend the parade you may check your student out with their homeroom teacher. Please be sure to sign the dismissal sheet. Since we are staging in the church lot parking is available at the rectory and on the side streets.
