MCAS Testing for Remote 8th Grade Students
You can find all of our MCAS information lower in this newsletter. The following paragraph is relevant only to grade 8 remote families.
In order for grade 8 remote students to have a successful MCAS administration, please note the following:
- Help your student find and read the email they received in their student email from Ellen Schuck. (This note was not sent to parents/guardians per the MCAS Administration protocol.)
- View this tutorial with your student to ensure their Chromebook is up-to-date: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9j8scx7LtI
- At 7:30 AM, your student should log in to the google meet using the code provided in Ellen Schuck’s email.
- Make sure your student has a good night’s rest, has their Chromebook charged, and is ready to do their best work tomorrow!

Information on Upcoming Senior Week and Graduation Events
Sounds of the Soul
The HHS Performing Arts Department has come together to create Sounds of the Soul: A Creative Look at What Makes us Happy featuring HHS singers, actors, playwrights, and instrumentalists in a showcase of music and drama! Bring your family together to watch Hudson’s finest sing, make music and act out the delights that life has to offer. The whole family will enjoy this video production, airing this Friday and Saturday at 7, and Sunday at 2 PM on HUDTV and Youtube.
Job Corps Centers Virtual Open House
If you or your student is still thinking about what to do after high school, then you will want to attend the Job Corps Centers Virtual Open House on Thursday, June 3 1:00 – 2:30pm. You can join the meet at 12:55 by using this Meet Link. During this event you will learn about the various technical training programs available as well as program benefits. Check out Flyer 1 and Flyer 2 for more information.
MCAS Testing Schedule
Below are links to the grade specific MCAS information previously sent regarding the spring 2021 MCAS testing schedule. The links below are an overview of the MCAS scheduling process for each grade level.

Sophomore Lawn Party and Class Rings
On Friday, May 21, 2021 during G block, sophomores will celebrate together with a lawn party on the front field. In addition to distributing class rings, there will be games, a sidewalk chalk art competition, and an ice cream truck. Ice cream tickets must be purchased in advance. Ice cream costs $5 and you will have a choice of flavors from Reasons to be Cheerful. Tickets will be sold before/after English MCAS in the cafeteria, or see Ms. Nielsen before/after school in F106. Jr. Booster Spring Raffle ~ Two Scratch Ticket Baskets ~ Two Winners!
Jr. Booster's is raffling off two amazing Scratch ticket baskets worth over $300 in scratch tickets. The drawing will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021. Raffle tickets are $5.00 each and can be purchased through Venmo or PayPal @hudsonboosters or checks can be made out to HHS Booster Club. Please put if you are supporting Jr. Boosters or a particular team in the comment section. Prizes will be awarded to teams for participation. We thank you for your support. AP Exam Schedule
The schedule for AP exams is listed below. Students taking AP exams should report to an 8:00 am exam by 7:30 am and to a noon exam by 11:45 am.

School Counseling Department

HHS Writing Center
The HHS Writing Center has new, more consistent hours now that everyone’s back in school. We’re open from 2:30 -3:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, AND Thursdays! We're still working remotely and available for conferencing through Google Meet (use WRITINGCENTER to find us). We also provide feedback on shared Google Docs. Please check out our website for more information, including writing tips!
Free Breakfast and Lunch for all Students
The cafeteria will continue to serve free breakfast and lunch to all students throughout the rest of the school year. HHS students are encouraged to take advantage of this benefit.
How to Get Student Technology Support
HPS Technology Device Repair Form
If a student is experiencing technical issues with a district-issued device, students/parents must fill out this online repair form.
After filling out the online repair form, the student/family must bring the device to their school’s main office. The Technology Department will pick up the device, conduct an evaluation, repair the device, and send an email to the student/family when the device can be picked up from the main office of the student’s school.
Aspen Account Issues
If parents/students are experiencing problems with their Aspen Account, they should send an email to aspenhelp@hudson.k12.ma.us.
Google ID Account Issues
Problems with a student's Google ID, please send an email to chromebook_rts@hudson.k12.ma.us. Questions concerning the repair status of a student's device can also be emailed to this same email address.

After School Help Available on Google Meet!
Reminder for students and families: All teachers offer after school help on Google Meet. Students can contact individual teachers for more information about their weekly extra help schedule. Click here for a list of teacher emails.
