PHOTOSYNTHESIS?
By: Alex Griffiths Period#4
Can you imagine a world without photosynthesis? You might answer, sure, we could surive without plants. If your answer is that, you're wrong.
TYPES OF ENERGY
As you all know plants need the sun to surive. In the past you might have thought that the sun gives the plant nutrients whick makes them grow, well that thought is wrong also. During photosynthesis, plants wse the sun's radiant energy tho photosynthesize. When they photosynthesize thy are producing food which is chemical energy.
PROCESS OF PHOTOSYNTHESIS
When a plant goes through photosynthesis they do certain steps. In order for a plant to photosynthesize, they need radiant energy (sunlight), water, and carbon dioxide. When a plant photosynthesizes it uses the sun's radiant energy, carbon dioxide from another living organism (such as a human or animal exhaling),and water to produce glucose. Also when a plant photosynthesizes they give off oxygen.
REACTANTS AND PRODUCTS OF PHOTOSYNTHESIS
In photosynthesis there are two things needed. They are called products and reactants. The reactants are what is used during photosynthesis and the product is the outcome of what is made during photosynthesis. The reactants in photosynthesis are radiant energy (sunlight), water, and carbon dioxide. The products are glucose and oxygen.
CHLOROPLASTS AND CHLOROPHYLL
Chloroplasts is the organelle in a plant cell where photosynthesis occurs. Be sure to remember that chloroplasts is ONLY in plant cells, nothing else. Chlorophyll is the pigmentation of plants which make them green.
PLANTS VS. ANIMALS
Plants are very important to animals. Without plants, the animals would die. Even though, not all animals eat plants, some animal they do eat does eat plants therefor their food would die which means they would die. It pretty much all connects.
So back to the opening question, no we could not survive in a world without photosynthesis.
