Hello Sloan Creek Families!

Happy Cinco De Mayo. What a great week we have had! I am so proud of all of our students for finishing STAAR testing strong.

Also, you will see that our school marshall, Jorge, received his SWAT badge. We are so thankful to have him at Sloan Creek. He goes above and beyond his duties and is such a positive leader at our campus.

As we near the end of the year, we have a lot of fun coming up for our students. We have kickball tournaments, tug of war competitions, and of course our field day. We also have dress up days coming up. See below for more information so you can prepare if you wish to.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. Please reach out if you have any questions or need clarification on any upcoming events. We know May is BUSY and we are here to help!

NEW!!! Field Day 05/16/2023

We are so excited to announce SCIS will have a field day! Field day will be Tuesday, May 16th. 6th Grade students will enjoy the festivities in the morning. 5th Grade students will enjoy them in the afternoon. We will have indoor and outdoor activities. This event will only happen with the help of our parent and community volunteers. Please click here to view the signup. NEW!!! Chick-fil-A on 05/26/2023

We are going to splash into summer by having Chick-fil-A delivered to SCIS on Friday, May 26th. This is an early release day. All meals include chips and a cookie. Students can choose 1 meal. We will NOT be ordering extra meals. Students are not required to purchase Chick-fil-A. They can bring a lunch from home or choose to wait until after the 11:45 AM dismissal to eat. SCIS Cafeteria will be closed this day.

Take advantage of the pre-sale pricing by ordering before the deadline of May 23. School supplies will be delivered to the campus and can be picked up during Walk the Creek in August. Attendance Information

Attendance continues to be a top priority for Lovejoy ISD. It should come as no surprise that attendance has a direct relationship with student learning. Additionally, public school funding is provided by the State of Texas based on each district's average daily attendance (ADA).

Lovejoy has developed an Attendance Task Force consisting of staff, parents, and students to formulate ideas about how to positively impact ADA in our district. One suggestion is to update the community via weekly principal communication on the number of absences each campus has accrued YTD along with the budgetary impact of those absences.
