Orange Shirt OrdersA reminder that Orange Shirt orders are due by noon on Monday, September 19th.The cost of the t-shirt is $14.00 (youth or adult sizes). One dollar from every shirt purchased will go towards an Indigenous Education Services Student Scholarship. Please note that payments can only be made at the school office using debit/credit card, no cheques can be accepted. Dawe School and St. Patrick’s Community School have joined forces to organize this fall run for students in grades four through twelve on Tuesday, September 20th. This organized Run, which follows a scenic route through the river valley, promotes fitness while accommodating both the recreational and competitive runner. The run starts in the field below Heritage Ranch, along the paved path, and ends at Great Chief Park. Students will be bussed there and back throughout the day according to grade. | Toonies for Terry Students are invited to donate a toonie in support of the Terry Fox Foundation. St. Patrick's/Dawe Run
On this 42nd year, committees from G.H. Dawe School and St. Patrick’s Community School have joined forces to organize this fall run for students in grades four through twelve on Tuesday, September 20th. This organized Run, which follows a scenic route through the river valley, promotes fitness while accommodating both the recreational and competitive runner. BandInstrument Rental Night: For any students joining band, we will have a virtual instrument rental night on Wednesday, September 21 at 6:30. Instruments will be required for class starting on Tuesday, September 27. Rock Band Club: Eastview Middle School is inviting middle school students to join their after school Rock Band club this year. Tryouts are September13th, 20th, 27th, and October 4th. Please see Ms. Holmes in the band room for more information. | | School Council Our first Parent Council meeting is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 27th at 7pm in the foyer of St.Thomas Aquinas. This is an excellent opportunity for parents to connect with our school administration, to learn more about our school and to provide us with input into our community. If you are interested in joining us for this meeting, please sign up by the end of the day Wednesday, September 21st using the Google Form link below. These meetings typically run for approximately 45-60 minutes and please know that your attendance at our first meeting does not mean that you must attend all upcoming meetings throughout the year. Those parents who sign up will be provided with more information as the meeting date approaches. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to any member of our school administration team. |

Girls in Aviation DayWe are excited to announce the Girls in Aviation Day (GIAD) event at the Red Deer Regional Airport on September 24th. This event is an International event that started eight years ago. GIAD is now in over 60 countries. Our mission is to bring all things aviation together so our community can learn about the industry. Our vision is for young girls to leave with an image of careers and access to information and pathways to broaden their awareness of all professions in aviation. The event is geared towards girls ages 8-17, and we will have age-appropriate content for elementary, middle, and high school. There will be positive female role models, pilots, aviation mechanic engineers (AME), flying clubs, schools, tours, swag, giveaways, bbq, and many interactive STEM activities. We also have many volunteer positions for students working towards community volunteer hours.
