Week of November 11-15
Reading: Continuing to discover what good readers do. Please encourage your students to read at least 20 minutes every night. We become better readers by reading!
Writing: We are still exploring informational text. The students have already picked a topic they want to write about. We are discovering what writers do when they plan informational texts.
Math: We are still exploring multiplication. I was amazed this past week how well all of the students understood the concept of multiplication and also how excited they were to be doing it!
Social Studies: We will continue to learn how the Native Americans and Europeans got a long with each other and how that affected the culture of South Carolina.
Science: Our supplies for structures of life have not made it in yet. We have decided as a third grade team to hold off on that unit of study until after winter break. So this week we will begin exploring sound.
I am truly enjoying getting to know each and every one of your students. I'm amazed by their brilliant thoughts and I am so looking forward to the rest of this year.
**Boosterthon is starting this week. I'll send out more information as I get.
Thank you for everything you do,
Stacey Crouch
