Are you plugged into Career Connection? Some of you may have received this newsletter because you are already in the system. If so, great job! Others of you may have no clue what we are talking about.

Career Connection is your portal to all things Career Center! This is where employers post jobs and internships (of which there are currently hundreds for you to search), so it needs to be on your radar if you are on the hunt. You can also sign up for campus interviews, research employers, check out the detailed calendar of events, and view what employers are attending upcoming fairs.

Grad School Pre-Planning Workshop: October 2nd, 3:30, Lanier 110 (Career Center)

Come learn about how you can prepare for your graduate school search. This is a great workshop for younger students to gain the knowledge to map out their futures.

Inspire! Leadership Forum with Alan Rabb, Coca-Cola North America: October 2nd, 5:30, Magnolia Ballroom

The Inspire series invites business and nonprofit leaders to share leadership lessons with GC students. Students gain insight into effective leadership and are challenged to fulfill their leadership potential. Attire is casual (though business casual is recommended).

Come learn more about etiquette, dressing for success, and preparing your Elevator Pitch. This workshop is part of the Backpack to Briefcase plan, but all students are welcome to attend.

Intern 101 Workshop: October 9th, 12:30, Lanier 110 (Career Center)

Are you prepared to succeed before, during, and after your internship? Let us help you get ready! This workshop is part of the Intern Ready plan, but all students are welcome to attend.

LinkedIn Lunch and Learn for Faculty and Staff: October 9th, 12:00, University Banquet Room

LinkedIn is quickly becoming a needed professional networking tool. Join Sarah Schanck, Assistant Director of the Career Center, as she shows you the basics of LinkedIn and how to use it strategically to connect within your field and engage with alumni. You will also learn why we are encouraging GC students to use this tool in their job, internship, and graduate school searches. This is a Staff Council sponsored event but is open to faculty as well as staff.
