Guided Pathways/Academic Plan Months
DE students are supposed to get their Guided Pathways/Academic plans completed within their first semester of enrollment. This plan provides high school counselors with a guide for the courses needed for students to complete their academic programs at IRSC and how these courses may be used as credit for the completion of high school. In efforts to increase the number of completed first semester Guided Pathways/Academic Plans, we have designated specific months in the Fall and Spring semesters as “Guided Pathways/Academic Plan” months. During these months, we will place a focus on students getting their Guided Pathway/Academic plans completed. Since we are just implementing this, we will use October 31st 2021 for the deadline for this semester and February 28th 2022 for the Spring semester. Students are able to schedule appointments with their Advisors via the Q-less system, which is accessible via the following link. https://irsc.edu/admissions/qless.html
Tech team members are available to assist with your tech needs! See the schedule attached of when they will be outside the front office to assist.
If you need health, vision, or dental care and cannot afford it, there may be resources available through Children's Emergency Resources. Contact tjones@irsc.edu to see if you qualify.

Make a Difference Mondays! A great way to make a difference is to make choices guided by the 6 pillars of character counts. These are trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. The October pillar is respect. Have you been showing respect at school to others? Do you respect yourself? Your family? Do you show respect to people who disagree with you? Being respectful and kind is a great way to make a difference.
Take Care Tuesdays! Today is Take Care Tuesday! The character counts pillar for October is respect. Often we think of respect for others, but on this take care Tuesday, think about the ways you may or may not be respecting yourself. Are you eating healthy, getting some physical activity in daily, getting enough rest, and avoiding harmful substances like smoking cigarettes, vaping, alcohol, and other drugs of abuse? Are you being assertive in friendships and relationships? These are just a few ways you can respect yourself through self-care and you will see a much happier future in the long run!
Way to Go Wednesdays! Today we want to send a big thank you and shout out to Joe Arias! Joe is the voice of our morning announcements and is always so responsible by showing up early each morning. He does what he can to make the sometimes lengthy announcements a bit more enjoyable for all to listen. Thanks for your dedication, Joe!
Thankful Thursdays! Today we are thankful for our honor society students and other scholars at Clark who have stepped up and are willing to help tutor their peers. Be on the lookout Monday for a schedule of how to access a peer tutor in every subject taught here at Clark!
Fun Fact Fridays! Experiments in universities have actually been carried out to figure out how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop, both with machine and human lickers (because this is important scientific knowledge!). The results ranged from 252 to 411.
