Newsletter - Term 4 Week 7

Friday, 3rd December 2021

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Kia ora koutou,

Looking around the school over the past few weeks the kids have been amazing. Term 4 has never been so settled which is a testament to our staff, children and the processes we have within the school. From time to time we deal with minor issues which is normal. We have worked really hard changing our school culture over the past 3 years and we are certainly noticing the positive changes. Keep up the great work everyone!

With two weeks to go school is very busy at the moment. Over the next few days your child's class teacher will be in contact with you via seesaw to let you know of any end of year activities that may be taking place.

Reports Home

We will be sending the end of year reports home on Monday, 13 December. The reports will be in the same format as the mid year reports that were sent home earlier this year.

Nga mihi,

Simon Bell

Library Books

It's that time of the year again when all the school library books are being recalled for the end of year stocktake. If your child has any school books at home then please return them to school as soon as possible to avoid any lost book charges ($20 per book), being added to your school account.

Thank you very much.

School Accounts

Could School Accounts please be paid before the end of the school year.

We are changing to a new management system next year so it would be great to get the accounts tidied up in 2021.

LUNCH NEXT WEDNESDAY

Ice Blocks - $1.00

available to purchase Wednesday 8th December

THE TREE HUT

The Tree Hut have been looking at the Gingerbread Man this week. We have been counting how many Gingerbread Men were running around our room.

ROOM 4

ROOM 9

Room 9 this term have had a busy term and are trying to get everything finished off before the end of the year.

This term we have trialled a new timetable and from feedback from the students, they have enjoyed not having everything the same each day.

We have had curriculum tasters where we have worked with a different teacher learning different skills in technology and following instructions, problem-solving and coding.

In Room 9 this term we have looked at forces in science and based it around kites, we have been learning French and some students have started to try other languages themselves. We have looked at Graffiti Art and planning and developing to our end piece, we are starting to look at developing our ideas. This term students have been reading different novels in their groups. We have also been developing our skills in figurative language for writing. For P.E. we have been developing skills in bowling, fielding and batting with cricket.

The students have done well to get finished before the end of the term. Here are a few of the finished art projects the kids have completed this term.

TOUCH DRAW - 6th DECEMBER

This is the last day of Touch for this year.

A BIG thank you to all parents and kids that gave up their time to take teams. Without your help we would not be able to field so many teams.
