It's A Pirate's Life
For the past week, Mr. Maeger’s 8th grade social studies classes have been studying piracy and the famous pirates who once roamed the seas near South Carolina. Creative projects allowed students to pick a name for their ship and create a symbolic flag that represents each group member. Lastly, they created rules also known as a pirate code for their ship.
Hitting the Right Notes in Chorus
All of Mr. Benitez's chorus classes have been hard at work! Over the past few weeks, 7th grade chorus has been working on ten different pieces, including "Akatonbo," "When I Grow Up," and "Double Trouble." This also means that they have to practice at home and fill in their mandatory practice log. In addition, they are preparing for the Veterans Day concert, which will take place on November 11th. This concert will include performances from chorus, strings, and band.
Circuit Training with Coach Scarborough
Students have been doing circuit training the past few weeks with Coach Scarborough. These one minute exercises include strengthening activities such as tricep dips, burpees, wall sits, and more. Coach encourages students to do these exercises not only in the gym but at home as well.
