About Dual Credit Connection
Dual Credit Connection is a monthly newsletter for all LSC-Tomball dual credit instructors. Each month, DC Connection will provide a list of important dates, administrative tasks, resources, and even teaching tips/ideas. DC Connection is brought to you by Academic Initiatives and Partnerships at LSC-Tomball.
Spring 2018 Administrative Tasks
Upload your Syllabus and Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Please upload your syllabus and updated CV no later than Friday, January 19, 2018. Below is a short video that shows you how to complete both uploads.

Verify your Rosters
On the first day of class, it is important that you verify your roster. We want to make sure that students receive college credit for your course, and the only way they can receive credit is if they are officially registered for the class. In the event that a student is missing from your roster, or there is someone on your roster who is not in your class, please contact your high school dual credit counselor. Below is a short video that shows you how to verify your rosters.

You will receive several LSC reminders and updates in your Lone Star email. It is important to check your Lone Star email at least twice a week. To check your LSC email, go to www.lonestar.edu/email and select the LSC employee email link.

Spring 2018 Grit Initiatives
At LSC-Tomball, grit and growth mindset are not just education buzz words. They are who we are, and what we want our students to be. We can achieve this goal by making grit/growth mindset a part of the students' semester.
Getting Started with Grit
There are several ways that you can begin to introduce GRIT and growth mindset to your students.
- Read the Spring 2018 Grit Newsletter
- Visit the Faculty Resources page on our Academic Initiatives & Partnerships website to get ideas for weekly grit assignments.
- Show the video titled "What's the point of College" which explains the importance of college students having a growth mindset.
