Background information about the specie
The green turtles are one of the largest sea turtles measuring up to 31-47 in and the only herbivore among diffrent species. Green turtles are found mainly in tropical and subtropical waters. They migrate long distances between feeding grounds and and the beaches from where they hatched
Threats or causes of endangerment
Green turtles are threatened by over harvesting of their eggs ,hunting of adults ,being caught in fishing gear and loss of nesting beach sites. Uncontrolled coastal development such as vehicle traffic and other human activities have destroyed their nesting beaches around the world. The water pollution are also bad for their feeding grounds.

Solutions and possible courses for protection
Eliminating bycatch by working with fisheries to switch to more turtle-friendly fishing hooks and devices that exclude turtles from the nets. Protecting sea turtle habitat by establishing marine protected areas to ensure aturtle sto have a safe place to nest ,feed and migrate freely .
