The invention of Dental Amalgam was by English chemist, Bell.

Manufactoring

Dental Amalgam is a mixture of 50% elemental mercury with a metallic alloy which mainly contains silver and tin. The liquid mercury is mixed with the alloy powder in a 1 to 1 weight ratio.

Cost

The cost of Dental Amalgam averages from $110-$200 per filling. Depending on how bad the cavity is and the number of teeth that need it.
