Term 3, Week 9 Newsletter
23rd September 2022
Principal's Message
Kia ora koutou katoa, 你好! (nǐ hǎo),
It has been a very sporty week 9 here at Te Kura O Urumutu with a large number of our Te Wao Nui O Tāne (Year 5 and 6) tamariki competing in the annual RICOH Sports Tournament. This is just our third time entering this tournament and we are very proud of how all of our children demonstrated our West End School Values and represented our school with pride. Thank you to all staff, parents, and whānau who devoted their time and expertise to ensure our children had a great experience by coaching and managing. Thank you also to Connor Drummond for his organisation and efforts to pull this together for West End School.
Also, I would like to congratulate Mr. Minchin on winning the permanent position of Assistant Principal at West End School after a robust recruitment and appointment process. It is exciting to welcome to Mr. Minchin to the Leadership Team permanently and we look forward to the many different opportunities you will share with our children in this role.
We have enjoyed celebrating Chinese Language week with a number of classes engaged in learning about the Chinese language. We are very fortunate and proud to have such a diverse student body and the rich learning environment that this provides for all of our children.
Have a fantastic rest of the week and a lovely weekend.
Ngā manaakitanga ,
Matt
