News and Notes from the Principal
Wildcats!
Halfway through September and we welcome the 2021 Homecoming Week ahead! With a week that is enveloped in school spirit and culture, we look forward to continuing to #BTH while remaining focused on educating our students! Help up make this a Homecoming to remember by joining us for our Homecoming Parade on 9/23 and pack the house on 9/24 as we take on Bradwell Institute in our 1st Home Football game of the season!
We were reminded this week of the power of social media and the impact that it can have on a number of situations to include the latest social media craze which was spurred by "likes" on TikTok videos revolving around the latest challenge: Devious Licks. While to many it may have appeared to be an isolated RHHS issue, this has become an international issue spurring TikTok (Social Media App) to remove videos: (See News Article Here) These "devious" behaviors have not only impacted the ability to efficiently and effectively run a school of nearly 2,500 students, but have greatly reduced the availability of usable facilities. As mentioned in a previous email, "students engaged in such behavior will be disciplined in accordance with the District’s code of conduct, applicable charges will be filed and restitution will be sought." I urge you to be cognizant of your students social media usage, after all - Wildcats know better, do better!
There is no doubt that it truly takes a village when it comes to raising children! I appreciate your support of RHHS, willingness to ask the right questions, advocate on behalf of your children and always expect the highest levels of excellence! Please don't hesitate to reach out should you ever have questions, concerns, comments or compliments with regards to any/all things RHHS!
