Women's Agenda Assembly 2012
Hosted by Compass Center for Women and Families
What is the Women's Agenda Assembly?
The Women's Agenda Assembly is an exciting opportunity for women of Orange County to come together in a safe space to learn about and discuss pertinent political policy issues affecting our community. This event also provides an opportunity to obtain feedback which is then provided to the North Carolina legislature by North Carolina Women United. The data gathered represents the political policy interests of women in counties throughout our state, and provides legislators with knowledge enabling them to address the issues that are most important to the women of North Carolina. This year, our event is focused on four main topics, with subtopics covered in each category: Civic Participation and Equality, Economic Self-Sufficiency, Affordable Childcare, Violence Against Women, and Access to Mental Health Services. We would like to invite you to attend the Women’s Agenda Assembly and voice your opinion!

Rachel Seidman, Associate Director of Southern Oral History Program, UNC
Bernetta Thigpen, Northwest Region Director, N.C. Council for Women
