Classroom Happenings
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit West Homer this week. It was great to catch up with each of you at conferences. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to discuss your fifth grader's strengths and goals for the remainder of the year.
What's Next?
This next week we will be starting our second round of fractions. Students will be adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators. In reading students will be developing their curiosity of new and interesting words while reading The City of Ember . We will begin our study of Early English Settlements in social studies. Finally, in writing students will be developing claims with strong supports within our opinion/argumentation writing unit.
Valentine's Day
Our class will be having a Valentine’s Day party from 2:30 to 3:00 on February 14th. Students may choose to bring cards and treats to share with their classmates. Please be sure to include all students on our class list. Thank you!
