Pleasant Valley Family Newsletter

March 10, 2023

Our mission is to empower and inspire a community of lifelong learners and leaders!

Big picture

Dear Pleasant Valley Families,

Beth Carter, our PCSD Family Mentor, shared the link for the March 2023 Parent Mentor Minutes.

Please note if your child is arriving to school after 9:20, you must come into the building to sign them in. We ask that you not send them to the door unattended. Also, if students plan to get breakfast in the morning, they should report straight to the cafeteria upon arrival.

We continue to have safety concerns with the traffic patterns during dismissal. Please be sure to take note of the dismissal map shown below. Cars turning in from Pleasant Valley Road should not be entering through the exiting traffic lanes.

Please keep this in mind... If you hear something from your child that doesn't seem right, immediately check with your child's teacher. Should safety ever be compromised, I will promptly notify all families. Creating a safe, orderly, and welcoming learning environment is critical to educating and preparing our learners to achieve their highest potential. The safety of your children will always be at the forefront. We have a dedicated staff who work hard to ensure your child is welcomed, served, and dismissed safely every day, whether via car, bus, or walking.

As always, I want to thank you for your partnership with Pleasant Valley! We are so appreciative of all of our Pleasant Valley families. Should you ever have any questions, concerns, or just a terrific idea you would like to share, please email me at bokas@parmacityschools.org or call the main office at 440.885.2480.

Warmest Regards,

Mrs. Stephanie Boka

Attendance is Important

Attendance Procedures

If your child is going to be absent, please call our office at our updated attendance line number, 440-843-3867, no later than 9:30 am. If the absence requires a doctor's visit, please provide a doctor's note when they return to school. Daily student attendance is a vital component of student academic success. With House Bill 410, the state of Ohio requires each school district to communicate with families when a child is chronically absent.
