News from Ms. Hess
In math this week, we learned to divide decimals by whole numbers. We also discovered that when we model division of decimals with decimals using base 10 blocks we get a whole number quotient!
In literacy, we learned about tall tales and the use of hyperbole to exaggerate characters to entertain audiences. We also practiced visualizing tall tales with a drawing of a Swedish tall tale character, Pippi Longstockings.
In science, we observed our creatures and plants. We also learned about the systems involved in a plant receiving nutrients to all its cells. We classified leaves and did leaf rubbings of the three types.
Thanks to all who were able to send in PLP reminder sheets this week to confirm your times. I apologize for not sending them in the Monday Binders of Awesome last week! I will plan to send an additional copy if not returned on Monday! Thanks!
