English/Language Arts
We will continue Unit 1 : "Being A Good Community Member". The focus of this unit teaches students that being a part of a community involves rights and responsibilities. In this unit, students will participate in shared reading and writing activities. Students will listen to stories and retell key details. We will also compare and contrast informational texts. We will identify text features found in texts such as table of contents and glossary.
In the middle of October, we will start Unit 2: "Many Kinds of Characters". This unit will focus on how we learn about characters in fiction stories by paying attention to what they say and do. Students will describe characters based on their traits and identify the major events that happen in the story.
Math
Science
In Science, students will use observations of the sun, moon, and stars to describe patterns that can be predicted. Students will make outdoor observations of the Sun’s position in the sky three times (morning, noon and afternoon afternoon), and analyze patterns in the position of the Sun. Students will also make outdoor observations of the Moon’s position in the nighttime sky at different times, and analyze patterns in the position of the Moon.

Mrs. Ledford
I love fall because I get to watch my son play football. We also enjoy sitting around our firepit, decorating for Halloween, and celebrating my birthday.
Mrs. Lowe
My fall favorites include watching football (especially my son’s team, and the Commanders!), pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING, hot apple cider, and picking out the perfect Halloween costume!
Mrs. Smith
Mrs. Tsarev
My family loves hiking with our dog Lucy and enjoying all of the colorful leaves of Fall. We also love roasting marshmallows on cooler nights with our neighbors.
