The Chelmer Valley Weekly Bulletin
17th March 2023
WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING THIS WEEK IN TUTOR TIME?
This week in tutor time our students in Years 7 – 10 have been continuing to look at the 5 Ways to Wellbeing related to the element of ‘Be Active’ and have all participated in some brain gym activities.
Please click here for a link to the school website where these presentations can be viewed.
Year 11 have focused on revision, helping them to prepare for their upcoming exams.
The assemblies this week have focused around student voice (you said, we did) and what improvements we have made in school based on what the students have said.
CAREERS
NHS Day
I would like to thank all the NHS representatives for attending our Annual NHS Careers Day as part as National Careers Week 2023. The day was a resounding success. They greatly supported the day and added so much vary and experiences for our young people. The students in Year 7,8, 9, 12 & 13 got a real insight into the many careers within the NHS. As the largest employer of Professional people in the world, we are certain that their attendance here will allow our students to aim high and consider the many careers and job roles available to them within the NHS.
Please see below the photographs from the day.
Year 10 Work Experience
BEP are still entering all own placements onto their system, as a result of this we are still able to take in "Own Placement forms" if you would like to. Please send these to ashea@chelmer.essex.sch.uk or ask your child to bring them to the Careers Suite in the Library.
Year 11 Careers Interviews
As we come to a close with our Year 11 Careers Interviews, we ask that parents are certain that their child has applied for Sixth Form, College or an Apprenticeship. If they are still unsure or have not applied for anything they will need to contact ashea@chelmer.essex.sch.uk or visit the Careers Suite. A Careers Interview will then be organised to guide and advise them on these decisions. All students are required to attend education until they are 18 Years old.

MATILDA REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
MATHS REVISION SESSIONS/REVISION PACKS
Year 11, 12 and 13 Maths revision sessions after school EVERY Wednesday in N33 and N34 from 3:00 to 4:15, bring along anything you would like to work on and you will get extra support and help if you need it.
Casio FX 83GTX Scientific calculators are still available on Wisepay for £9.00. Bring your receipt to the maths office to collect.
In previous years past paper exam packs have proved very popular as a revision aid for many of our students. We have issued a pack to every student and are using them in class and for homework tasks.
Due to the rising costs of paper and printing, we will be asking for a voluntary donation of up to £5 to cover some of these costs and so we can continue to supply this valuable resource. This can be accessed through your usual wisepay log on for your child.
Many thanks for your continued support.
