Mr. Mauck's Musings
The Cats are home tonight battling Evansville Central, with kickoff at 7:30. We will be honoring Coach Tony Ahrens for his induction into the Indiana Football Coaches Hall of Fame. At half-time JHS will honor this years inductees into the Jasper High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Fresh off a victory over Jeffersonville, the Tennis team is traveling to Center Grove. Our sectional champion Girls Golf team will be in regional action. The volleyball team heads to Martinsville for their classic invite. The Cross Country Cats hosts our Jasper Invitational. Both the Boys and Girls Soccer teams travel to Castle to compete in an SIAC match. Our Flag Football team will head to Bedford for a clash with the Stars. Finally, the Marching Wildcats travel to Avon in search of their third victory in as many weeks. Good luck to all of our students and coaches.
Congratulations to Blake Broeker and Mrs. Andera Fleck who earned Student and Staff of the Week Honors. Our very own, Mr. Daniel Otto was recognized this week by the German Embassy in Washington DC, the Goethe-Institute, and American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) with the German Embassy Teacher of Excellence Award. We are very fortunate to have Herr Otto.
Mrs. Elrod our National Honors Society sponsor wanted me to remind Juniors and seniors with a GPA of 4.0 or higher of the paperwork they received this week to complete to be considered for induction into the JHS National Honor Society. Students are required to complete an activity sheet and write an essay about how they meet the four pillars of NHS. All paperwork is due back to Mrs. Elrod by Friday, September 29th by 3 PM.
